1. Introduction
MySolSolution is the operator of this website and a solar lead-generation and services business. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information in connection with our website, solar evaluations, consultations, contact forms, referral program, scheduling experience, and related business operations.
By using the website, you acknowledge this policy. Where a form presents a separate consent request, that request controls the specific information you submit and the purpose described at that point of collection.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with the site, we may collect:
- Contact and identity information: name, email address, phone number, street address, city, state, and ZIP code.
- Property and solar-interest information: homeowner status, property type, roof sunlight, utility provider, average or estimated electric bill, solar questions, and other information you choose to provide.
- Appointment information: scheduling selections and information associated with a consultation request. Scheduling is provided through Calendly, which may collect information under its own privacy practices.
- Messages: the content of contact-form messages and communications you send us.
- Referral information: referral codes, referral source, prospective customer information submitted by a referral partner, permission confirmations, referral status, and attribution used to administer the program.
- Referral partner information: partner name, business or organization, email, phone, address, website or social profile, referral type, estimated referral volume, notes, terms acceptance, and program communication preferences.
- Marketing and technical information: referral URL or code, campaign/source attribution, UTM parameters, browser and device information, and website usage information. Our application does not intentionally store IP addresses in the lead database, although hosting, security, or infrastructure providers may process IP addresses in ordinary server logs.
3. Electric Bill Uploads
Some forms allow you to optionally upload an electric bill or utility document as a PDF, JPG, or PNG. An uploaded document may contain a utility account number, electricity usage, billing amounts, service address, rate information, and related account details.
We use uploaded documents to evaluate solar opportunities, improve estimates or recommendations, communicate with you, and provide requested solar-related services. Please do not upload unrelated sensitive information, medical information, government identification, financial account credentials, or documents belonging to another person without permission.
Uploaded electric bills are stored using access-controlled file storage and are made available only to authorized personnel and service providers who reasonably need them for the stated purposes.
4. How We Use Information
We may use information to respond to inquiries; evaluate solar opportunities; prepare estimates or recommendations; schedule and conduct consultations; communicate with prospective customers; route requests to appropriate solar or service partners; operate and audit the referral program; prevent fraud, abuse, and duplicate submissions; maintain business and compliance records; measure advertising or campaign effectiveness when those tools are enabled; improve the website and services; and comply with legal obligations, requests, and dispute-resolution processes.
6. Solar and Service Partners
If you request solar information, an estimate, a consultation, financing information, installation information, or related services, MySolSolution may provide relevant information to solar installers, service providers, contractors, financing sources, or other partners who may assist with your request. Those companies may contact you directly about the requested services and may maintain their own privacy policies. This disclosure is presented at the point of collection because it is an important part of how this lead-generation service operates.
7. Referral Program
Referral partners may submit prospective customer information only when the person has given the partner permission to share it with MySolSolution regarding solar services. We retain referral codes and attribution so we can administer, verify, audit, and compensate eligible referrals. We do not provide unnecessary customer details back to referral partners; partner updates are generally limited to information needed to communicate referral status or administer compensation.
9. Business Transfers
If MySolSolution is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or sale or transfer of all or part of the business, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor or acquiring entity may continue to process information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, applicable law, and any additional notices or choices required by law.
This provision describes a transfer of business assets and operations. It is not a statement that customer information is sold independently as a data product.
10. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
MySolSolution does not offer personal information as a standalone data product. However, some laws define certain disclosures of information to service providers, lead recipients, advertising partners, or other businesses as a “sale” or “sharing,” even when the business purpose is lead fulfillment or advertising measurement. If a disclosure is legally classified that way, we will provide the notices and choices required by applicable law, including an opt-out mechanism where required.
The current application does not operate a standalone targeted advertising program or advertising pixel. If that changes, we will update this section and provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” option and honor Global Privacy Control where legally required.
11. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide or evaluate services, manage leads, administer and audit referrals, communicate with you, satisfy legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and maintain legitimate business records. Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the context in which it was collected, and applicable law. We may securely delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed.
12. Security
MySolSolution uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we handle. Access to administrative records and sensitive documents, such as electric bills, is restricted through access controls and authorized business processes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Consumer Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal information. You may also have rights to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling, and to appeal a denied request where the law requires an appeal process. These rights are not universal and may be limited by applicable exceptions.
To submit a privacy request, use our contact form with the subject “Privacy Request”. We may need to verify your identity and may ask for information needed to process the request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right provided by law.
14. California Privacy Rights
California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and other California laws, depending on whether and how those laws apply to MySolSolution. These may include rights to know or access, correct, delete, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, opt out of sale or sharing, and receive equal treatment. We do not currently claim that the CCPA applies to MySolSolution in all circumstances. If applicable law requires additional disclosures or opt-out tools, we will provide them, including a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and Global Privacy Control handling where required.
15. Children's Privacy
The service is not directed to children under 13, and MySolSolution does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the service. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
16. Third-Party Links
The website may link to third-party services, including scheduling or partner websites. Those websites and services have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices, and you should review their policies before providing information.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as our business, technology, services, partnerships, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the website after an update means the revised policy applies to future use, subject to any notice or consent required by law.
